Get to Know Alana
Alana is an international change leadership expert, inspiring professionals to lead change in themselves and others to create inclusive, resilient, and competitive organizations. She is a passionate energy industry veteran who has paved the way for women leaders, with a focus on women of color. Her experience as an engineer and project manager in talent development provides real‐world insight into how people and teams can excel, even in the face of adversity. Throughout her career, Alana has led diverse teams and delivered high-impact workshops all over the world!
With over 25 years of cross-functional leadership and training expertise, Alana helps individuals and organizations accomplish their goals by utilizing sharp analysis, strategic planning, and interpersonal skills development. She helps leaders balance cognitive ability (IQ) and emotional intelligence (EQ) to improve team dynamics and performance.
Alana is a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA), Project Management Institute (PMI), Toastmasters International, and the Association for Talent Development (ATD). As a strong advocate for corporate and personal philanthropy, Alana has donated her time and talents to local School Districts, Texas PTA, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and other civic and charitable organizations. When she is not traveling the globe, you will find her running and serving in her church and community. Alana resides in Houston, TX.
Alana learned to drive an 18-wheeler right after college. She could be heard grinding gears all over South Texas.
Alana’s mom was from Jamaica, so she calls herself Pseudo-Jamaican and the beach is her happy place.
Alana learned to play basketball while raising her four boys, but they still wouldn’t pick her for their team.
Alana moved around a lot as a kid, so she’s skilled at being the New Kid.
