This thought-provoking course empowers attendees with the knowledge and tools to champion a culture of belonging.

INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTORS

DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

Virtual or In-Person
In this highly-interactive workshop, we open the door for the opportunity to discuss status and privilege (real talk…we all have some kind of status or privilege) in the workplace. Through non-threatening and non-accusatory self-reflection and group exercises, we demystify and destigmatize the concept of privilege. Participants will be challenged to think about how their own privilege impacts their experience in the workplace and recognize that their status may change based on the situation. To drive the conversation towards action, we will address how status and privilege impacts visibility, mobility, access, and long-term outcomes, and share guidance on how to champion a workplace culture of equity and belonging. By the end, each participant will be more confident and competent to lead and engage in difficult conversations about identity and lived experience.
Participants leave this program with the ability to:

Understand the relationship between the concepts of privilege and meritocracy

Recognize that self-reflection and acknowledgment is the first step to addressing inequities

Engage in perspective-taking to gain insight into the experience of diverse peers

Learn how to be a better ally to underrepresented and marginalized communities
