THOUGHTS FROM SECURITAS

What was your purpose for wanting to host a series for Pride Month?

Our purpose was to raise awareness and create an environment where we can educate, self-reflect, and discuss current challenges that impact our LGBTQ+ team members, while finding solutions to create a safer, welcoming, inclusive, workspace for all.

In your opinion, what was the greatest impact from the training sessions?

I think the real life scenarios in the breakout groups had the most impact. We were able to see various perspectives and look at things through the lenses of others, which became an Aha moment for many.

Any other key successes from the training sessions that stand out to you?

The fact that we had an awesome instructor (Gregory Tall) who created a fun, energetic, and judge free environment, provided our employees with the comfortability and confidence to engage and share their perspective, experiences, and personal areas of improvement.

JB’s mission is to Make Work Better. How has this partnership made work better  for Securitas employees?

JB’s training initiated conversations throughout our company surrounding what each individual can do as an active bystander, ally, or member to improve our culture. It also provided clarity and great resources to further educate ourselves as well as others.

Quotes From Participants

“Greg was a great trainer, good energy, very open, good quantity of breakouts and questions.”

“Gregory’s breakdown (sex vs. gender, gender identity, distinguishing orientation) was clear, engaging, and accessible. I also appreciated that he acknowledged we will make mistakes as we learn, but fear of mistakes shouldn’t stop us from trying to better and doing the right thing”

“The examples used help challenge the mind to view from various perspectives.”

“The cadence of this training is great. As someone who used to do these trainings, I found this one to be relevant, up to date, and helpful to everyone regardless of their space.”

“At first I was pretty nervous about all of the breakout rooms and speaking in small groups about difficult topics but it ended up being my favorite part because it helped me practice speaking up, voicing my opinions, listening to others, etc.”

“I also appreciated that he acknowledged we will make mistakes as we learn, but fear of mistakes shouldn’t stop us from trying to better and doing the right thing”
